    Course objectives

The course is rooted in an understanding of the molecules within cells and of the interactions
between cells that allow development of multicellular organisms. Key concepts in cellular
biochemistry and their experimental underpinnings will be presented. Medically relevant
examples will be described where appropriate to help illustrate the connections between
cellular biochemistry and health and human disease. A hallmark of the course is the use of
experiments to engage students in the history of cell biology and the research that has
    contributed to the field.

    Prerequisites

Knowledge and skills in Chemistry and Biology acquired during the Bachelor courses.

    Teaching methods

Oral lessons and critical reading of original scientific papers

    Evaluation methods

For the students who attend the course the exam consists of passing an oral exam with a grade of at least 18/30,
The oral exam is aimed at evaluating the knowledge of the different topics, the reasoning and connection skills between the various topics of the course.

    Other information

The student can use the supporting teaching material made available on the University website.

The teacher is available for receiving students on the days indicated on the teaching form and on request sent by e-mail.
