Metodologie didattiche | Il corso è strutturato in lezioni teoriche frontali.
Simplasto e apoplasto. Plasmodesmi. Trasportatori selettivi. Trasportatori attivi primari e secondari. Carrier del fosfato. |

Textbook and course materials | Rascio et al. ELEMENTI DI FISIOLOGIA VEGETALE Edises Napoli 2017 |
Course objectives | The course is designed to stimulate students to understand the main physiological and molecular mechanisms regulating plant differentiation and development in natural and agricultural environments. During the course, students will have the opportunity to learn the main aspects of plant physiology, from a theoretical systemic and molecular view to their biothecnology applications in the frame of the knowledge of chemistry, phisics and biology that students learn in the overall study course. |
Prerequisites | Knowledges and skills learned in the course of Botany and Organic chemistry |
Teaching methods | The course consists of theoretical lessons. in detail, the course load is 48 hours (6 ECTS). The lessons will be held twice a week in the classroom using power-point slides . |
Evaluation methods | Assessment aimed to verify the student's level of knowledge and understanding of the subject, and the student's ability to discuss and explain the key concepts shall take place. They will be held not only on the basis of a single examination at the end of the course, but two ongoing assessments of the students' achievement will be offered. For students not participating in the ongoing assessment, the final exam will consist of a written test, preparatory to oral examination, and an oral exam. The evaluation will be expressed in thirtieths (minimum mark 18/30). In the written exam preliminary to the oral exam the minimum passing score is 16/30. |
Other information | To help students to assess their level of preparation, the syllabus of the lesson including questions similar to those will be used for written and/or oral exams is provided from time to time. A facebook group has also been created for the interaction of the students with the professor of the course, and continuously contents related to the lessons, in the form of pdf, photos, and videos, are uploaded to the group page. Classroom attendance is recorded by roll call. Only those who have more than 65% of presences are allowed to take the intercourse tests. |
Course Syllabus | Plant cell - General characteristics and function of cellular compartmentalization. Biological membranes: role in homeostasis, in transport, in signal recognition and transduction. Symplast and apoplast. Plasmodesmata. Selective transporters. Secondary and primary active transporters. Phosphate carrier. |
