Textbook and course materials | 1) M. Bramanti, C.D. Pagani, S. Salsa, Matematica. Calcolo infinitesimale e Algebra lineare (second edition), Editor Zanichelli, 2004. |
Course objectives | During the course, topics from differential calculus for functions of one variable and for functions of several variables, from integral calculus and from matrix calculus are treated in a unified manner, privileging the applicative aspects, however without renouncing to a presentation of formal elements and tools. The students are provided with basic knowledge of Mathematics, widely used in the studies and the applications in Economics, Statistics and Finance. In particular, aim of this course is, throughout the study of classical Mathematical tools, to make the students able to understand problems from modern Economy and Finance, by making them acquire essential knowledge for an efficient study, also focused on logic and formal aspects, of the several other disciplines included in their curriculum |
Prerequisites | Mathematics from 2nd grade Secondary School |
Teaching methods | Lectures and classes (unless otherwise disposed by the University, due to unpredictable emergency situations) |
Evaluation methods | The exam includes a written and an oral part (unless unforeseeable emergency situations). Both, to participate in the written test and to participate in the oral exam, a valid ID document must be shown immediately before. |
Other information | The exercises of the written tests, and any additional teaching material, can be found on the website of the Department of Mathematics and Physics (https://www.matfis.unicampania.it/dipartimento/docenti?MATRICOLA=058041) |
Course Syllabus | - Refreshment on tools and basic concepts |
