Obiettivi formativi | Il corso ha come obiettivo quello di far acquisire allo studente le basi delle quattro principali branche della genetica: la genetica mendeliana, la genetica molecolare, la genetica delle popolazioni e la genetica quantitativa. |

Course objectives | The aim of the course is to provide the student with the skills on the four main branches of genetics: Mendelian genetics, molecular genetics, population genetics and quantitative genetics.The student will be able to understand the genetic mechanisms that underlie the evolution of plants, in order to apply experimental designs and identify and select improved plant genotypes. |
Prerequisites | The student must have basic knowledge of biology, mathematics and statistics. This knowledge ispartially acquired in high school and in the basic teachings given during the first year of the university study course. |
